InMode FX or Forma in Seoul: Which Concern Are You Bringing?

“I want InMode” is a starting point, not a treatment map. One person points to fullness below the jaw; another is worried about the feel of the skin over the cheeks. Even if the same device family is mentioned, those questions should not be answered with an identical handpiece plan.

Beauty Blossom Clinic lists FX and Forma modes on its InMode information page. Before discussing which mode might fit, describe what you actually see, where you see it and whether it changes when your face moves.

Short answer: Bring the concern and the area, not a mode selected from a video. Ask the clinician to distinguish a contour or tissue-volume concern from skin-surface firmness and texture, assess whether either mode is suitable and explain the expected sensations, possible marks and limits for your case.

What is the difference between asking for a contour change and asking about skin texture?

A contour concern is usually described by a boundary: a jawline that seems less distinct, fullness under the chin or a facial outline that looks different from side to side. A skin concern might involve laxity, texture or the way light reflects across a cheek. Those descriptions do not diagnose the underlying tissue, but they give the clinician a useful place to start.

The clinic describes InMode as a radiofrequency-based treatment with FX and Forma modes. It associates mode choice with the layer and concern being considered. That does not mean everyone asking about a jawline needs FX, or that Forma is the answer for every texture concern. The individual examination determines whether either is appropriate.

How can you describe the intended area precisely?

Point to a small region in a mirror and show it from both the front and side. Notice whether the issue is visible at rest, only when you smile or only under strong overhead light. Ask whether the clinician is discussing the lower face, under-chin region, cheek or another area. A labelled photograph can communicate your concern, but it cannot measure tissue thickness or diagnose a cause.

Bring a list of any previous RF, ultrasound, injectable or surgical treatments in the same area. If you noticed prolonged bruising or unusual reactions after a previous procedure, say so. It is also worth saying what you do not want changed. The plan should have clear boundaries rather than spreading a device session across the whole face by default.

Why should FX and Forma have separate recovery questions?

Different applicators and settings may produce different sensations and visible skin responses. The clinic information mentions temporary bruising or redness after InMode. Those reactions should not be promised away with the phrase “virtually no downtime.” If your work involves photographs or you are travelling soon, ask what marks are possible with the specific mode and area being considered.

Discuss warmth, pressure, skin sensitivity and how discomfort will be monitored during a visit. Ask the team whether numbing is proposed, what you should report during treatment and what aftercare they recommend. General online timelines, including figures on an older FAQ, do not establish the recovery time for an individual session.

What should a meaningful comparison with other options include?

The useful comparison is not “FX versus Forma” in isolation. Ask what tissue or visible concern each proposed mode is meant to address, what it cannot do and whether a different modality or no procedure would be more suitable. The clinic can assess skin condition and explain why a smaller treatment area may be enough.

A suggestion to combine modes also deserves explanation: which area receives which applicator, what sequence is proposed and how the plan changes if the examination does not support the initial assumption. Seek a clear aftercare plan and a way to contact the clinic about concerning symptoms. A device name alone does not establish expected changes.

Questions to bring to your consultation

  • What exactly is being assessed: tissue fullness, contour, skin firmness or texture?
  • Which area and which InMode mode would be used, and what would be excluded?
  • Could temporary redness, bruising or swelling affect my upcoming schedule?
  • What are the alternatives, safety considerations and the clinic contact route afterward?

Caution: RF treatments may cause warmth, redness, tenderness or bruising, and individual reactions vary. Tell the clinician about implants, relevant medical conditions and earlier procedures. If a symptom is severe, worsening or unexpected, contact the treating clinic promptly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose FX simply because I dislike my jawline?

No. A visible outline alone does not identify the tissue or confirm suitability. Have the area and possible causes assessed first.

Does Forma automatically mean there will be no marks?

No. Skin response depends on the mode, settings, area and individual. Ask what temporary changes you should expect for your proposed treatment.

Must FX and Forma always be combined?

No. The clinician should explain which option, if any, fits the concern and why a combined or limited approach would be considered.
